lingering topics

At the moment the only thing that came to mind was graduating and being able to transfer to a 4 year college. even though my major is paralegal i want to pursue occupational therapy. sounds crazy i know but i just want to have two different degrees under my belt. i feel like nothing in this world is guaranteed and if you have the opportunity then why not take advantage. it will take me a while to complete those degrees but I'm willing to to whatever. i want to able to feel and know that I'm secure.

going to a 4 year college can be never wrecking especially if you have one in mind already. The college that i choose to go is york college or Dominican college. these two colleges offer my major and i have already applied for them so im hoping and wishing that i get accepted. pursing occaputional therapy is something that rearch on and i know can do it and it's something that pays very well so why not go for it.

i guess you can i had alot to think about but it's my future and i just want to be able to know that i will be ok especially the way things are right now. there are no jobs and money is a huge issue thats something im tring to avoid and be able to give my parents something cause i know they work really really hard to get me where im at.

MY jobless group ♥♥

we were assigned to groups and in the beginning i was assigned to some other group but i had to changed it so i ended up with the JOBLESS JAVES. Now i know your probably asking yourself why we chose that name well because everyone in the group is pretty much jobless and javes is the first letter of each name. funny right? well besides our name being funny i felt this group thing was a good idea the only thing i didnt like was that we don't have enough time since class is pretty much over.

Doing this group excerise can help us understand each other as well as career fields. well like any group excerise there's always a reason behind it and the reason for this one is to see what we learned in this class. my group as good ideas but for now you'll just have to wait and see. hopefully when you do see our presentation you'll enjoy yourself and understand us as a group. this group may be jobless but it has alot of potential .

in my opinion not only did i have fun but i met some really nice interesting people and their careers. well this is much better than a test soi will enjoy myself and just have fun while presenting and remeber if you dont like the presentation at least nod and smile it will make us feel better .

Eportfolio

well well i really had fun in the eportfolio class especially since it was only an hour. When i first started this class i took it like a joke but after spending some time and paying attention in class i realize that this class can help me. honestly since i was joking around i thought i was going to need some more time to finish my eportfolio but surprisingly i finished right on time. my eportfolio isn't the best but i really like the work i put in and besides i had fun writing and getting to know myself a little better.

In that class it helped me to expand my options and realize im closer to my dreams and just knowing that im the only one in my family who will finish college makes me feel grreat. lol.Eportfolio is not only a good class but a necessary class to graduate . in the beginning i thought this class was just a waste but its really not it helpes you alot at least thats what i think. mind you im not a computer geek but i also learned some computer tricks that could help me out.

so in conclusion next time i won't judge a class ill just give it some time. however i can say im happy i took this course but my journey here at laguardia will soon stop at the end of this year but anyways i enjoyed myself hopefully you did too. thank you

My Mock Interview

wow it was very interesting especially when i was the last one on the list. Besides that the interview was helpful but a little nerve wrecking.I've been to many interviews and i usually get intimidated but then i tend look all serious and mad , i don't know why but that's what i do. In this interview i felt like it helped me to be comfortable with myself and with my answers. Even though my professor was interviewing i still acted the same way i would act in a real interview.

when being interview i tend to answer questions right way and in a way that i can impressed them but after doing this mock interview i learned their are no right or wrong answers it's just a matter of how you answer them and the way you answer them. During the interview i also learned that if you sound cocky that can hurt your interview but in my opinion as long as you confident nothing can go wrong unless the person who is interviewing you doesn't like you but that a different story. i picked up some good tips in this interview and i know one day someone will hire me its just a matter of time

so funny thing is in this mock interview i got an A- and i got hired so that tells me that if i pratice and put myself out there i can get a job especially now since im broke. i really had doubts about this mock interview but ineed it did help . so professor thank you for those minor tips...

job interview tips

http://www.jobinterviewquestions.org/questions/job-specific-questions.asp

When it comes to creating a resume can be easy but when having an interview is a whole new story. From experience i tell you the interviewers can tell when someone is nervous or when its their first time. When i had an interview i use to shake and use alot of ums in my sentence. of course that was first time being interviewed. these interviews csn seem easy but its nervwrecking however after many interviews i learned to be calm, show up on time and smile throughout your whole interviewe ( a smile can go along way just show some teeth).

like i mentioned before interviewers can tell when your not calm. try to speak clear and ums in your sentence. i would advice you to practice with your friends dont get fustrated if you dont get it right away but its a mattter of skills so be patient. Shoeing up on time is definetly a good thing for of course. Not only does it shows that yor are on time but that you respect their time. Lastly but not least is smiling now even though you feel like you suck at the interview the smile could just overshadow your answers. now dont smile creepish but in a way thats says thank you for taking you time out to speak to me. No one can't rea.lly turn a good smile down.

Now if these tips dont help well at least you tried but dont give up there many people out there who has the same issues its just a matter of overcoming them. But when you do walk out give a nice strong handshake , thank them and smile. but remember practice.

Life Skills

What are Life Skills? DO we need it ? well after reading many articles i came to the conclusion that life skills is something that you learn within time. However life skills is not the only skill but is one of those skills that helps you accomplish the others skills. Life skills can help you with money management and communication skills. These skills is not an overnight skill it's something that you learn in time and gradually learn to use them. All of these are needed to be aware of what life holds in stores.

Communication skills is an immportant , with skill it helps you move around and get to know other people. Communicating with someone about anything is a skill and not many people can master it. In my opinion communication is one those skills that you need to be able to survive. CAll me crazy but if you didn't communicate or be able to , how far do you think you would go.

Money Managment is also very important however people would have to learn from their mistakes. At least i Know i did. Im not very proud but i suck at money managment but after being in debt i learned how to mange my money. you see money is needed in this world but people don't realize how it important it is when they end up in debt. To be able to manage money is a skill that takes time but it won't take forever.

cover letter

what is a cover letter? well in my opinion its a letter that states and summarizes what you want to do and what you are looking to do in the working field. Now i usually hand in the resume but i learned that a cover letter makes a big differences but yet not many interviewers ask for them. In my opinion I feel a cover letter is not needed. Call me crazy but a cover letter may make a difference but it's not needed. I feel when you are being interviewed you can explain what you want to do and why you are so intrested in working that fiels. Honestly it sounds better when someone its explain their thoughts.

I haven't work that many jobs , and when i went to the interview i would explain to them why in a professional matter. Now not to long ago a friend told its better if you walk in with your cover letter, well i took her advice and to be honest some of these interviewers don't even pay attention to the cover letter. When handing in my cover letter they strictly went to my resume and look fo something that would catch their eyes.

A cover letter could be useful but it depends on who's interviewing you. A resume speaks louder and stronger than a cover Letter but dont get me wrong people had luck with cover letter but i guess it's what makes you comfortable unless if they request it. If they request it well then its must. However my advice would be do makes you feel comfortable dont follow into my footsteps

ASAP Method

After reading this ASAP method it helped me realize that i made the right choice. Now that I'm almost done with the year, I'm graduating with a business degree however in choosing that degree i realize that it made me realize i did not search for enough information but having a business degree under your belt is always a good idea. Asking the right questions is always a method that i use especially if it deals with my career choice. I can honestly say that i lacked in analysing my findings. Its hard choosing your career choice but its something that may take time even if it means changing career.

Now remember when i took the personality test well it did match my career choice however it may state that but honeslty its not something i want to do. I've search for others careers and analyzed other career and finally came to a decided what i want to be. After doing this reading it just made me realize the steps and precautions i have to take.

so what have i learned? I learned that i still need to more information but i still know what i want to do. choosing careers is not like choosing candy its much more than that.

Resume Genius!!!!

ok findind a job can be hard but putting a resume together could be nerve breaking. Ifound couple of sites that shows me how to put a resume together but doing this little research i learned its not about what you put down on a paper but its how you write it down. i have so many resumes but they all sound like just got out oif high school but after practing learning new words i pretty kept everything the same but just reworded some of the words.

By googling you can find many soultions on how to write a resume or even a cover letter but what helps me out is a book called Resume magic. This book helps me put everything in perspective and in order. However doing this search helped me view different ways to writing a resume. After doing this i learned thats it easy its just a matter of practice.

if you just type in resume and click on images you'll see how a resume should look like besides there's different ways in creating a resume it's just a matter of which one you feel comfortable with but either way you should be fine besides it's what you say that will grab the interviewer attention not the format.

Best and Worst jobs in 2010!!

In my opinion since we are in recession i feel all are jobs are at their worst. Now of course they are jobs that earns a little more money than others but think about it, before they're was recession, jobs were easy to find and they pay was good at least to get by. Everything was afforable but now since the economy went down everyone from celebrities to a small buisiness owner are having trouble to get by. In these reports i understand what they are trying to say but like i said before at this point there are no best jobs just worst.

In the methology report they explain what jobs gives you more stress but seriously in this case we as people will never be free from stress. Stress are one of those things that we can't run away , it will appear some way some how but we can control it. I don't agree with these reports , they are not accuarte but i guess in a way do make a point. They do explain what jobs are a good pay but if they are some of these jobs ask for degrees and i can promise you half of us citizens don't have a degree so they kind of stick to the job they're with.

The only people that feel ohas a good pay but has a lot of stress would the celebrities including the president Obama. They're jobs are reasonably good but like any job they sacrafice and stress alot and of course half of these celebrities dont have degrees so imagine how hard they have to work but not as hard as someone who get's paid minium wage.

career dilemma

while reading this section i learned how to approach a career with the right questions. Chosing a career can be stressing because at the end of the day we all want to successful , however in chapter it taught me how i need to search my information especially before entering in it, Analzing your findings and planning your next actions. These steps may sound hard but with a little dedication im sure i can find my dream job.

Doing this activity was a bit fun but it defenitly showed me how i need more information about my career and it made me realize that im making the right choice because the way the economy is right now i wouldnt want my dreams to shatter, but with a little dedication im sure i'll over come it.

with this activity i learned i want to enter in the marketin business. if i had a dilema i would had to say time would be my biggest one. I'm a part Time student and if i keep taking this route it would take me about another 2 more years to finish. hopefully i can finish just but only time will tell.

personality Test

http://humanmetrics.com/vocation/JCI.asp?EI=-22&SN=0.6&TF=25&JP=56

These Personality test can be a joke, do u really think a test can determine who i am. I'm 21 years old and it took me about at least a decade to figure out who i am and yet i still wonder and ask myself who i am. Now even though i feel a test can't determine who i am ,in a way i felt like it did ask some good questions, some of those questions were relatable while some were was just vague. In this test it showed my weakest areas as well as my strongest point in my personality but a test is a test.

When you click on the link above you will see what my personality was and according to them I judge more than I sense. with the personality they matched me up with potential jobs that would suit me . I could see myself doing most of those jobs. However I feel this personality showed what i could do and what could suit me such as being a dentist. Now i always wanted to be a dentist but to see it on the screen was like an inurance that i could be one.

I probably missed judge the personality just a little bit but it did help verify who i am but keep in mind that these results are not accurate.
