lingering topics

At the moment the only thing that came to mind was graduating and being able to transfer to a 4 year college. even though my major is paralegal i want to pursue occupational therapy. sounds crazy i know but i just want to have two different degrees under my belt. i feel like nothing in this world is guaranteed and if you have the opportunity then why not take advantage. it will take me a while to complete those degrees but I'm willing to to whatever. i want to able to feel and know that I'm secure.

going to a 4 year college can be never wrecking especially if you have one in mind already. The college that i choose to go is york college or Dominican college. these two colleges offer my major and i have already applied for them so im hoping and wishing that i get accepted. pursing occaputional therapy is something that rearch on and i know can do it and it's something that pays very well so why not go for it.

i guess you can i had alot to think about but it's my future and i just want to be able to know that i will be ok especially the way things are right now. there are no jobs and money is a huge issue thats something im tring to avoid and be able to give my parents something cause i know they work really really hard to get me where im at.

MY jobless group ♥♥

we were assigned to groups and in the beginning i was assigned to some other group but i had to changed it so i ended up with the JOBLESS JAVES. Now i know your probably asking yourself why we chose that name well because everyone in the group is pretty much jobless and javes is the first letter of each name. funny right? well besides our name being funny i felt this group thing was a good idea the only thing i didnt like was that we don't have enough time since class is pretty much over.

Doing this group excerise can help us understand each other as well as career fields. well like any group excerise there's always a reason behind it and the reason for this one is to see what we learned in this class. my group as good ideas but for now you'll just have to wait and see. hopefully when you do see our presentation you'll enjoy yourself and understand us as a group. this group may be jobless but it has alot of potential .

in my opinion not only did i have fun but i met some really nice interesting people and their careers. well this is much better than a test soi will enjoy myself and just have fun while presenting and remeber if you dont like the presentation at least nod and smile it will make us feel better .

Eportfolio

well well i really had fun in the eportfolio class especially since it was only an hour. When i first started this class i took it like a joke but after spending some time and paying attention in class i realize that this class can help me. honestly since i was joking around i thought i was going to need some more time to finish my eportfolio but surprisingly i finished right on time. my eportfolio isn't the best but i really like the work i put in and besides i had fun writing and getting to know myself a little better.

In that class it helped me to expand my options and realize im closer to my dreams and just knowing that im the only one in my family who will finish college makes me feel grreat. lol.Eportfolio is not only a good class but a necessary class to graduate . in the beginning i thought this class was just a waste but its really not it helpes you alot at least thats what i think. mind you im not a computer geek but i also learned some computer tricks that could help me out.

so in conclusion next time i won't judge a class ill just give it some time. however i can say im happy i took this course but my journey here at laguardia will soon stop at the end of this year but anyways i enjoyed myself hopefully you did too. thank you

My Mock Interview

wow it was very interesting especially when i was the last one on the list. Besides that the interview was helpful but a little nerve wrecking.I've been to many interviews and i usually get intimidated but then i tend look all serious and mad , i don't know why but that's what i do. In this interview i felt like it helped me to be comfortable with myself and with my answers. Even though my professor was interviewing i still acted the same way i would act in a real interview.

when being interview i tend to answer questions right way and in a way that i can impressed them but after doing this mock interview i learned their are no right or wrong answers it's just a matter of how you answer them and the way you answer them. During the interview i also learned that if you sound cocky that can hurt your interview but in my opinion as long as you confident nothing can go wrong unless the person who is interviewing you doesn't like you but that a different story. i picked up some good tips in this interview and i know one day someone will hire me its just a matter of time

so funny thing is in this mock interview i got an A- and i got hired so that tells me that if i pratice and put myself out there i can get a job especially now since im broke. i really had doubts about this mock interview but ineed it did help . so professor thank you for those minor tips...

job interview tips

http://www.jobinterviewquestions.org/questions/job-specific-questions.asp

When it comes to creating a resume can be easy but when having an interview is a whole new story. From experience i tell you the interviewers can tell when someone is nervous or when its their first time. When i had an interview i use to shake and use alot of ums in my sentence. of course that was first time being interviewed. these interviews csn seem easy but its nervwrecking however after many interviews i learned to be calm, show up on time and smile throughout your whole interviewe ( a smile can go along way just show some teeth).

like i mentioned before interviewers can tell when your not calm. try to speak clear and ums in your sentence. i would advice you to practice with your friends dont get fustrated if you dont get it right away but its a mattter of skills so be patient. Shoeing up on time is definetly a good thing for of course. Not only does it shows that yor are on time but that you respect their time. Lastly but not least is smiling now even though you feel like you suck at the interview the smile could just overshadow your answers. now dont smile creepish but in a way thats says thank you for taking you time out to speak to me. No one can't rea.lly turn a good smile down.

Now if these tips dont help well at least you tried but dont give up there many people out there who has the same issues its just a matter of overcoming them. But when you do walk out give a nice strong handshake , thank them and smile. but remember practice.

Life Skills

What are Life Skills? DO we need it ? well after reading many articles i came to the conclusion that life skills is something that you learn within time. However life skills is not the only skill but is one of those skills that helps you accomplish the others skills. Life skills can help you with money management and communication skills. These skills is not an overnight skill it's something that you learn in time and gradually learn to use them. All of these are needed to be aware of what life holds in stores.

Communication skills is an immportant , with skill it helps you move around and get to know other people. Communicating with someone about anything is a skill and not many people can master it. In my opinion communication is one those skills that you need to be able to survive. CAll me crazy but if you didn't communicate or be able to , how far do you think you would go.

Money Managment is also very important however people would have to learn from their mistakes. At least i Know i did. Im not very proud but i suck at money managment but after being in debt i learned how to mange my money. you see money is needed in this world but people don't realize how it important it is when they end up in debt. To be able to manage money is a skill that takes time but it won't take forever.

cover letter

what is a cover letter? well in my opinion its a letter that states and summarizes what you want to do and what you are looking to do in the working field. Now i usually hand in the resume but i learned that a cover letter makes a big differences but yet not many interviewers ask for them. In my opinion I feel a cover letter is not needed. Call me crazy but a cover letter may make a difference but it's not needed. I feel when you are being interviewed you can explain what you want to do and why you are so intrested in working that fiels. Honestly it sounds better when someone its explain their thoughts.

I haven't work that many jobs , and when i went to the interview i would explain to them why in a professional matter. Now not to long ago a friend told its better if you walk in with your cover letter, well i took her advice and to be honest some of these interviewers don't even pay attention to the cover letter. When handing in my cover letter they strictly went to my resume and look fo something that would catch their eyes.

A cover letter could be useful but it depends on who's interviewing you. A resume speaks louder and stronger than a cover Letter but dont get me wrong people had luck with cover letter but i guess it's what makes you comfortable unless if they request it. If they request it well then its must. However my advice would be do makes you feel comfortable dont follow into my footsteps
